YOU'LL PROBABLY LIVE LONGER THAN YOU THINK.

Many nearing retirement estimate their lifespan to be in the early to mid-80s.

- However, this overlooks the concept of "joint life expectancy," especially for healthy couples, where one spouse may live into their 90s or beyond.

- Data suggests a 73% chance of at least one spouse reaching age 90 and nearly 50% chance of reaching 95.

- Additionally, there's almost a 20% probability of living to 100.

Average life expectancy is a mid-point not an end-point.

- You may need to plan on the probability of living much longer - perhaps 35 years in retirement - particularly if you are a non-smoker in excellent health.

- It's crucial to consider long-term portfolio management as retirement could span over three decades.

- Investing a portion of your portfolio for growth is important to maintain your purchasing power over time.
